Bodum Vacuum Travel Mug Review

This Bodum vacuum travel mug is the bees knees. It must be getting on for ten years old now and it is still as brilliant as the first day I used it. We were given two of these by a work colleague as a Christmas gift who knew that we liked travelling and camping (thanks Lynne!)

The manufacturers description … “Central to the Travel Mug’s stylish, streamlined design is our innovative, insulating double wall system. It keeps hot and cold beverages at their best, so you can savor every sip. Rest assured that the exterior stays cool even when the contents are piping hot. Durable and robust, this stainless steel travel mug is wrapped in a non-slip silicone sleeve for comfortable carrying, and has a secure lid with drinking aperture.”

What we say…
This Bodum mug is robust. It is made in a similar way to a double stainless steel walled thermos flask. Because it is steel, this travel mug is heavier than similar plastic ones. Mine weighs 341g. So if you are looking for and ultralight travel mug, this might not be for you. What we love about this mug is that it is extremely durable (it’s been dropped so many times on hard surfaces) and it keeps drinks hot for hours!

We also like that this travel mug comes in different colours so each member of the family has their own easily identifiable travel mug. This is very useful so you don’t mix up drinks and accidently drink someone’s sugary tea – Yuk! We’re not sure if these are meant to go in a dishwasher, but we wash them this way and haven’t had any issues.

This go to travel mug gets used on the school run, day trips and longer travels and helps reduce the amount of waste from paper and plastic cups and lids.
